Beschrijving

Een "tubogas" armband gemaakt in 14k geelgoud. Lengte 18 cm. Meesterteken H.J. Tap (Den Haag, 1950-1970). 

 

Tubogas (gaspijp) is denaam die wordt gegeven aan een ketting van in elkaar grijpende stroken goud die stevig in elkaar zijn gewikkeld. Een tubogas armband of collier is een flexibele, holle ketting die niet hoeft te worden gesoldeerd. De handgemaakte tubogas techniek bestaat al eeuwen en werd enorm populair in de jarenveertig, toen innovaties nodig waren om de schaarste aan sieradenmaterialen op te vangen.
